“You’ll often see local dentist DAVE CARNEIRO (pictured) running or riding his bike around town,” a tooth fairy from his Astoria office told the Ear. “His passion for running brought him to Massachusetts to run the BOSTON MARATHON April 14. Training in 30 to 40 degree weather over the months prior to the marathon, he thought he’d be well prepared to run the 26.2 mile distance, expecting the weather in the Northeast to be similar.”

“Well, he was in for a surprise,” she continued. “Temperatures hovered near 90 degrees the day of the run! Many runners opted to wait until next year to participate, but Dave decided to go for it. Despite the unexpected weather conditions, he finished strong and is looking forward to participating in other marathons. Let’s just hope the temperature stays below 80 degrees for the next one.” Indeed.
