ILWACO, Wash. - Ilwaco Harbour VIllage at the Port of Ilwaco is featuring its first Halloween art event, "Terror at the Port," from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30.
Scary art, creepy crafts, meals and drinks will all be part of the festivities.
There will be a portwide scarecrow contest to vote on the the creepiest of the bunch.
There will also be refreshments and a free raffle with gifts from Nautical Brass and Time Enough Books, as well as two dinners from the Canoe Room and two appetizers from Pauly's Bistro.
The Shoalwater Cove Gallery is hosting the drawing for this year's Marie Powell Kite Festival Poster original as well as featuring John Cook's glass pumpkins.
The Wade Gallery is working in conjunction with Time Enough Books to bring to the peninsula the art and children books of painter, author and former Disney illustrator Jimmy Pickering. Time Enough Books will have Pickering's award-winning books in stock. Pickering will be in the gallery to meet and greet, talk about his art and sign books.
Nautical Brass will feature "The Bearington Bears," all dressed and ready for the holidays.
In addition, the Canoe Room will host an apple bobbing contest, Pauly's Bistro will host live music and Harbor Lights will be brewing up a sinister concoction called "Devil Chili."
