More than 40 volunteers came out April 22, Earth Day, for the Astoria Downtown Historic District Association’s (ADHDA) annual Downtown Clean-Up. Along with various downtown merchants and local residents, there were volunteers from the Astoria High School Key Club and the U.S. Coast Guard. Because of the large turnout, the clean-up was able to touch every block in the downtown area, 36 total blocks. The local Boy Scoutshelped by picking up trash along the Riverwalk. Numerous businesses donated supplies for the event.
