Barnard-RhodesPatti Ann Barnard of Oregon City, daughter of Marilyn and Howard Barnard of Warrenton, exchanged wedding vows with James Guy Rhodes of Oregon City, Sept. 27, 2003, at the Columbia Gorge Hotel in Hood River.

The bride was given in marriage by her father in an evening ceremony officiated by Bill Foster. She wore a white, spaghetti strapped, mermaid-cut dress. Lace, A-line overlay flowed out into the train. A modest portion of pearls and sequins decorated the bodice and lace. A long veil was held in place by a crown of pearls with rhinestones. The bride carried a bouquet of white gardenias.

The bride's mother was escorted to her seat by her sons, Michael R. Barnard of Redmond and Steven C. Barnard of Port Orchard, Wash. Flower girl and ring bearer were the bride's niece and nephew, Lauren and Joshua Barnard, both of Port Orchard, Wash.

Matron of honor was Brenda O'Brien of Warrenton. Bridesmaids were Patty Hupp of Davenport, Wash., Vicki Pugliese of Folsom, Calif., and the bride's sister-in-law, Lori Barnard, of Redmond.

Best man was Doug Rhodes of Milwaukie. Groomsmen were Jerry Rhodes of Milwaukie, Tom Giese of Seattle and Eric Oswald of Apple Valley, Calif.

Guests attending the wedding traveled from Oregon, Washington, California, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Florida, Mississippi and Tokyo, Japan.

The bride attends Washington State University and is employed as a trooper for the Oregon State Police. The groom graduated from Western Oregon University in 1995 and is a deputy sheriff for Clackamas County.

A reception was held in the Benson Ballroom at the Columbia Gorge Hotel. The couple honeymooned in Las Vegas and plan to make their home in Oregon City.
