Rogers-O'ConnorAlyson Rogers of Astoria, daughter of Dick and Carol Rogers of Longview, Wash., exchanged wedding vows with James O'Connor of Astoria, May 8 at the First Lutheran Church in Astoria. He is the son of Dennis O'Connor of Astoria and Fredette O'Connor of North Dartmouth, Mass.
The bride was given in marriage by her father in an afternoon ceremony officiated by Pastor John Wecker. She wore a white strapless dress with a four-foot train. Both bride and groom are Lewis & Clark fire fighters, so the "getaway" vehicle was the Lewis & Clark 1943 Mack fire truck.
Matron of Honor was DeeAnn Rzewnicki of Warrenton. Bridesmaid was Katie Kotera of Castle Rock, Wash.
Best Man was Brad Purdom of Corvallis. Groomsman was Ian O'Connor of Astoria.
The bride graduated from Mark Morris High School in Longview in 1999 and from Clatsop Community College in 2003. She is a UPS driver in Astoria. The groom is a 1998 graduate of Astoria High School and a 2003 graduate of Oregon State University.
A reception was held at the Astoria American Legion. The couple honeymooned in Las Vegas and in Hawaii. They plan to live in Astoria.
