SEASIDE - Alley Katz Gallery, 111 Broadway, presents ceramic artist Dorothy Steele at an artist's reception from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 5, featuring refreshments and live music by 'stoo.

Known for her whimsical cat-themed pottery pieces, Steele will be presenting her new works, which are clay paintings. She makes flat shapes out of clay, some with surface relief, fires them in the kiln, then airbrushes and paints her images on the surface. Steele said her inspiration comes from her pets, nature and dreams.

Accomplished North Coast musicians Craig Abrahamson and Jim Stewart have never really known what to call themselves on stage - this week they've hit upon "'stoo." Their music ranges from familiar to original and features percussion, guitar and vocals.

Ever-changing in its exhibits and inventory, Alley Katz offers "a fun gallery experience for all art lovers who enjoy the whimsical and the serious sides of art." For information, call (503) 738-0328.
