CANNON BEACH - Some new exhibits will open at the White Bird Gallery celebrated with an opening reception from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. .10.
In the South Wing artist Ken Grant opens an exhibit of oil paintings in "Past Themes Revisited and New Themes Explored." Grant paints interiors of rooms, chairs, still-life and figurative works. His newer works contain pianos with floating pages that turn into birds, figures in unsuspected settings and positions and still-life and interiors viewed from alternative perspectives.
The East Wing features paintings and ceramic tiles by Annie Meyer, who paints simplified landscapes and figures on handmade ceramic tiles as well as canvas.
Also featured in the East Wing are watercolors by Scott Johnson, whose watercolors are also landscape-based. His work often incorporates elements of the weather.
Metal sculptures by Steve Tilden in the exhibit "Mostly Birds" will be on display in the East Wing. Tilden has created sculptures of birds, horses and other animals in steel.
