Creative Journeys will offer several writing workshops with Gail Balden beginning in January.

1-3 p.m. Mondays, Jan. 19-March 1 - "A Writer is a Person Who Writes," Riverbend Room, North County Recreation District, 36155 Ninth St. in Nehalem, $60.

1-3 p.m. Tuesdays, Jan. 20-Feb. 24 - "Nurturing the Creative Spirit," Maggie's Attic at Maggie's Guestrooms, 47 Gregory St. on Artisan's Row in Wheeler, $60.

1-3 p.m. Wednesdays, Jan. 21-Feb. 25 - "Spiritual Journaling," St. Catherine Episcopal Church, Division and Manzanita streets in Manzanita, $45.

Saturday one-day intensive workshops are held from 9 to 4 p.m. at the Cannon Beach Presbyterian Church, 132 E. Washington St. in Cannon Beach. Cost is $70 for the following:

Jan. 17 - "Rediscover Your Creative Self"

Feb. 28 - "Writing to Honor Your Story"

A Writer's Weekend is scheduled for March 5-7 at Maggie's Attic in Wheeler. Cost is $160.

No writing experience is required for any of the workshops.
