SEASIDE — As a long time supporter of the bi-annual SOLVE Spring Beach Cleanup, Western Oregon Waste (WOW), a Recology company, once again donated their services for the March 30 event, providing the trash boxes at four check-in points in Clatsop County at Cannon Beach, Seaside, Gearhart and Warrenton, and one at Nehalem Bay State Park.

The trash collected at these sites resulted in a combined weight of more than 4,500 pounds. WOW employee volunteerism has also played a role at past SOLVE beach cleanups, with the Fort Stevens Peter Iredale typically the target area.

This year, WOW has announced a record showing of 114 employees and their families, who joined forces at the Seaside site to volunteer their time to make a difference in the community. Some traveled from as far as the Portland and McMinnville areas, representing Recology Oregon Material Recovery, Recology Portland, and WOW McMinnville.
