Jim Bernard of Warrenton sent in a poem from his published book, "Positive Poems and Rhymes to Encourage Your Times."

"It seems in addition to our local loss of those in Iraq, all of us go through loss of loved ones," Bernard wrote. "I thought this poem might be timely and bring solace."

A Solution for Sorrow

By Jim Bernard

Is there any simple solution for sorrow?

Some magic potion I can borrow?

Grief has robbed my peace like a vagrant thief.

O the loneliness within, the ache in my heart,

a feeling as though a part of me has died.

Has our Master lied? When His promise He cried?

"Blessed are they that mourn,

for they shall be comforted."

I think not!

The solution I'm sure is to rest in Him secure,

the agony will cease.

He will bring you His peace!
