Friday afternoon, a group of seventh-graders from Warrenton Middle School gathered in the schoolyard for an unconventional science class. They were going to dissect a fish that washed up on Sunset Beach in July. The fish, a roughly 100-pound opah, is usually found in warmer waters like those around Hawaii. Nate Sandel, the education director for the Columbia River Maritime Museum, led the class, working with other staff from the museum and from the Seaside Aquarium to host the dissection.
