Seaside - The American Association of Retired Persons will sponsor a classroom driver refresher course Sept. 15 and Sept. 16 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The two-day class will be held at the Chisholm Community Center at 1225 Avenue A in Seaside.

The course is designed to sharpen driving skills, prevent accidents, keep older drivers on the road longer and more safely, and save money on insurance. There is no test.

Oregon law requires all insurance carriers to offer premium discounts to those 55 years and older who complete the course. Upon completion of the class, a certificate will be issued entitling participants to a discount on their auto insurance premium.

The cost is $10 to AARP. To register, call Betty Steele at 738-7393.
