Beginning Monday, the contractor for the city of Astoria's Combined Sewer Overflow Phase 3 - Denver Street Storage Project has scheduled street excavation and installation of 4,400 linear feet of 24-inch diameter sanitary sewer pipe on West Marine Drive from Denver to Fourth streets. This work is anticipated to continue through the month of June.
All schedules are subject to change in the event of unfavorable weather conditions. Citizens should be prepared for short traffic delays and should use alternate routes where possible. For questions, call Astoria Public Works at (503) 338-5173.
Clatsop County Public Works crews will be ditching in the Elsie area next week. Also, there will be brush chopping and tree trimming crews on Youngs River Loop Road and on Labiski Lane.

Next week the Oregon Department of Transportation will continue work on the Astoria-Megler Bridge. The project involves recoating the steel on the northern side of the Columbia River bridge along U.S. 101 north of Astoria.
The scheduled work includes coating structural steel underneath the bridge deck. A 35 mph speed limit through the construction zone will be maintained for the duration of the project. Flaggers will control single lane traffic during construction activities as required. Expect delays of up to 20 minutes during the daytime, and drive through the area with caution.
On U.S. Highway 101, work will be done on the Wilson River Bridge in Tillamook. The contractor will continue preparation work for the project.
