In honor of Earth Day, as a component of a service learning class, and made possible by the support of SOLV and community members, the Astoria High School Life Skills class will be spending the school day Friday, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Bay Front, in Warrenton, trying to help clean the area. Bay Front is located between Northeast King Avenue and Northeast Heron Avenue, off of East Harbor Street. Enter from Heron Avenue, the fishing fleet parking lot.

The participation of any community members who are willing and able to assist in the project would be appreciated. Gloves, garbage bags and dumping facilities will be available on site. Participants should wear warm layers of waterproof clothing with long sleeves and long pants, boots and a hat, and bring sunscreen, a sack lunch with snacks and a water bottle.

For information, contact Faith Harris-Herke, Astoria High School youth transition specialist, at (503) 325-3911, Room: 206.
