Did the filming of "The Ring 2" whet your appetite for lights, camera and action? Another chance to be in the movies comes up Saturday as Arkham NW Productions holds auditions for an independent horror film from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Clatsop Community College Performing Arts Center, 16th Street and Franklin Avenue.

"Cthulhu" will be shot in Astoria in late September and October. The screenplay is based on the writings of H.P. Lovecraft, considered by some as the father of the horror fiction genre. Men, women and children are needed to portray background extras and creatures. Featured roles are available for two teenage boys, and the studio recently announced that it may cast local auditioners in starring roles as well.
