HOLLIDAYSBURG, Pa. - Police in Pennsylvania arrested an Astoria man in a big drug raid Monday.
Raymond A. Rabreau, 61, was one of six people allegedly caught in the act of dividing and weighing about 550 pounds of marijuana in a home in Altoona, Pa., when state police served a search warrant, the Centre Daily Times, of State College, Pa., reported.
The marijuana, worth an estimated $550,000 - one ounce of cocaine, $25,417 in cash, four vehicles, one box trailer and a loaded Glock 9mm handgun were confiscated from the residence of Kevin P. Flood, according to police quoted by the newspaper. Police also confiscated a pound of marijuana, two guns and $5,000 cash at another home and arrested a woman.
The arrests were part of a nine-month investigation into a drug distribution ring in two Pennsylvania counties. The seven men and women were apparently in business for many years, police said, and every month received 500 pounds of marijuana from California.
In addition to the 550 pounds, police in the course of the investigation also seized an additional 90 pounds of marijuana, two indoor marijuana growing operations and $137,0000 cash, the newspaper reported.
