An Astoria man was arrested by the Clatsop County Inter-Agency Narcotic Task Force on multiple drug charges and domestic violence Thursday.

An investigation by the team consisting of county sheriff’s deputies and a Seaside Police officer stemmed from information provided by an officer with the Astoria Police Department regarding marijuana use and sales involving Astoria School High School students.

The investigation, conducted over the course of two months, resulted in the execution of four search warrants throughout the county, as well as the arrest of Jose Luis De Jesus Cruz Cruz, 24, of Astoria. He is a resident alien.

Cruz was arrested and lodged at the Clatsop County Jail on multiple counts of delivery of a controlled substance for marijuana and cocaine.

During the execution of a search warrant at the suspect's residence, detectives also found evidence of domestic violence.

Further investigation resulted in an additional charge of fourth-degree felony assault against Cruz. Women's Resource Center members responded and provided additional support for the victim.
