KBPS “All Classical Radio” will air an hour-long show, “Played in Oregon,” at 1 p.m. Sunday.

It will feature excerpts from prior Astoria Music Festival successes.

The program will be introduced by Crista Wessel, producer and host. It airs at 89.9FM but is best heard on the Coast online at www.all classical.org

The program features music from the past seasons, including performances by Russian cellist Sergey Antonov and singer Ruth Ann Swenson. It will feature part of the 2011 opera “Il Trovatore” with Centralia, Wash., soprano Angela Meade, who is returing to headline the festival this month.

It will also include the Astoria Music Festival Orchestra playing a movement from Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony.

“This is a great thing for us – a statewide broadcast – rarely do they devote an entire program to one group,” said Keith Clark, music director of the festival.

This years festival, the 10th, will begin in two weeks.
