Police have arrested two Astoria High School students for burglaries around the community last month.

Robert McGuire, 18, has been lodged in the Clatsop County Jail. A 17-year-old juvenile was lodged at the Youngs Bay Detention Center.

McGuire faces two counts of first-degree burglary and six counts of second-degree burglary. The juvenile faces one first-degree burglary charge and three of second-degree burglary.

The burglaries occurred at the Astoria Middle School, Astoria High School, the Tapiola concession stand, the Port of Astoria Harbor Master's Office and a home in Astoria, said Assistant Police Chief Alan Oja Friday.

They were arrested after an investigation by Officer Ken Hansen, who is assigned as the School Resource Officer.

Although the investigation into the cases continues, no other arrests are expected, Oja said.
