The Astoria Police Department’s office at 555 30th St. is now closed to public access, while the building is prepped to receive seismic upgrades over the course of the next several months.

Until then, officers and administators will be housed in the former Astoria Yacht Club building, which served as City Hall in previous months. It is located at 1555 W. Marine Drive.

This weekend, staff will work to move locations.

The Astoria Police Department will open at the Yacht Club at 9 a.m. Tuesday.

As usual, for emergency services call 911. For nonemergency service, the police department can be reached at (503) 325-4411.

Police say not to delay reporting as a result of the closure.

“While the building is closed, the department continues to function as close to normal as possible,” Deputy Chief Brad Johnston said.

The closure will not affect officers, who will remain on duty.
