An Astoria man was charged with stabbing his 18-year-old girlfriend Wednesday evening during an argument in their room at the Hideaway Inn, 443 14th St.

According to Astoria police, Christopher Lee Harmon, 21, was intoxicated when he stabbed the woman in her right flank, near her kidney, then threw her to the floor and threatened to kill her.

The woman escaped to a neighbor's room, and the neighbor helped her get to Columbia Memorial Hospital. CMH staff notified police, who went to the Hideaway Inn and arrested Harmon. He is lodged at Clatsop County Jail, awaiting arraignment this afternoon on charges of attempted aggravated murder, first-degree assault, fourth-degree assault and possession of a weapon with intent to use it.

The victim was admitted to the hospital, where a spokeswoman said she is in good condition today.
