TILLAMOOK - Astoria won its 26th straight Cowapa League game Thursday with a 15-0 victory at Tillamook.

Since dropping a 4-3 decision at North Marion March 20, the Fish have won six in a row to improve to 7-1 overall. Astoria is now 14-0 against the Cheesemakers going back to the 2006 season, and has outscored Tillamook 191-16 in those 14 meetings (25-0 this week).

In Thursday's win, the Fishermen belted three home runs in a seven-run third inning, as Max Johnson led off with a homer, Ian Erickson added a two-run shot later in the inning, and Garrett Puckett followed Erickson with a homer.

Johnson, Conor Harber, Dane Lund and Jake Davis all had doubles, while Marcus Brown and Marc Gallegos each had two RBIs. Johnson pitched the five-inning shutout, allowing just two hits with no walks and four strikeouts.

The No. 1-ranked Fishermen will host sixth-ranked Newport at 1 p.m. Saturday. Banks at Seaside and Yamhill-Carlton at Scappoose were both postponed Thursday.
