Big River Excavating, the city of Astoria's contractor for the Combined Sewer Overflow Smith Point Storage Project, continues work next week on West Marine Drive near the Astoria roundabout. Work includes the start of pipe-laying. The top of the structure will be completed and then backfilled.

Motorists should use caution and reduce speed when in this work zone. Efforts are being made by the City and Big River Excavating to maintain customer access to businesses. For questions, contact Thomas Morgan, engineering technician, city of Astoria at 338-5173.

The Combined Sewer Overflow Separation Project is nearing completion of work in South Astoria . Crews will be paving Fourth Street from Olney Avenue to Hobson Avenue. Patching work will be completed on Sixth Street from Klaskanine Avenue to Niagara Avenue. Minor traffic delays can be expected. The Astoria Road District 2004/2005 Paving Project continues next week

Here is the schedule:

Monday: Auburn Avenue at Cumberland Street. The cul-de-sac area will be graded and rocked.

Tuesday: Auburn Avenue From Cumberland Street to Nita Avenue, and Nita from Auburn to Nehalem avenues.

Access will be limited during paving. Residents should move vehicles down to Nehalem Avenue before paving begins.
