Cannon Beach Elementary students Maggie Neuwirth and Jack Simmons were the lucky winners of the “Bikes for Books” program sponsored by the Evergreen Masonic Lodge in Seaside. Aimed at third-, fourth- and fifth-graders, the program encouraged students to read books and make reports. They then could enter their name for a drawing. At the end of May, Maggie’s and Jack’s names were drawn. The contest was also conducted at Gearhart and Sunset Heights elementary schools.
