The Astoria Yacht Club Opening Day Boat Parade and Blessing of the Fleet Ceremonies will be held Saturday. Vessels should assemble off the West End Mooring Basin at 2:30 p.m. and form a single file to rendezvous with the ceremony boat at the Columbia River Maritime Museum.

The Blessing of the Fleet ceremony, placing of the wreath and invocation will take place at 3 p.m. Chaplain Frank Gillock will preside. The announcements and invocation may be heard on VHF Channel 68.

All boaters are invited to participate and lay wreaths or flowers in memory of friends or family. The public is welcome to view the ceremonies from the Maritime Museum.

After the ceremonies, the participants are welcome to attend an informal barbecue beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the blue and yellow tent at the Astoria West Mooring Basin near the new Port office.
