Bob Terry appears to have won re-election for Washington County Commissioner. He defeated challenger Elizabeth Furse with about 53 percent of the vote in his favor.

Terry will start his new four-year term in January. He says a close race was expected, but he had his constituents' support.

"I am very proud of them and they sent the message that they approve the job that I'm doing, and my pledge is to continue to serve them as I have in the past," Terry says. "And, my phone and ears are always open to their concerns and wishes because I love our county and very, very much committed to the county."

Terry will represent District 4, which includes a large portion of the county's rural area and the cities of Hillsboro, Banks, Cornelius, Forest Grove, Gaston and North Plains.
