Clatsop County's building codes and planning offices will be closed Friday,May 18, to move to a new, temporary location.

Building inspections will be provided to contractors who call in before 7:30 a.m. Friday.

"We're sorry for any inconvenience this may cause to our customers and the public, and we appreciate everyone's patience. We are trying to make this as painless as possible by doing the move on a Friday and over the weekend," Community Development Director Ed Wegner said.

The offices are moving one level up to the second floor of 800 Exchange St. while a new HVAC system is installed in the building's first story. The system is part of the renovations being made to the building to accommodate county offices displaced from the courthouse.

The offices will reopen in the new location on May 21; Building Codes at 7:30 a.m. and Planning and Zoning at 8 a.m.

Building Codes and Planning will return to the first floor when the HVAC installation is completed in four to six weeks.
