Genevieve Butenshon has been promoted to the position of vice president/human resources director at Bank of Astoria.

Butenshon has held various positions in the bank during her 91/2 years of employment. In her new duties, she will be responsible for all aspects of human resources for the bank including payroll, benefit administration and personnel issues, in addition to interpreting and administering all internal and governmental laws and regulations. She will also continue to serve as the bank's corporate secretary.

Butenshon lives in Astoria with her husband and two children. She came to the Northwest from Southern California and holds a bachelor's degree in music from California State University, Northridge. She and her husband are the youth ministers at First Lutheran Church. She also assists with the Liberty Theatre Restoration Project, participates in the SMART reading program, enjoys performing often as a classical vocalist and is both a Relay For Life committee member and team captain for Bank of Ast
