A Cannon Beach man, who police say is a methamphetamine dealer who supplied much of Cannon Beach and Seaside, was arrested May 2.

Daniel Leroy Washam, 38, of Cannon Beach, was charged with delivery of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, and possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine. He was transported to the Clatsop County Jail.

The Clatsop County Interagency Narcotics Team began investigating Washam when the team’s detectives learned that Washam was allegedly a methamphetamine dealer. As the investigation continued, the team obtained search warrants for Washam and his vehicle. On Thursday, the detectives, along with a Clatsop County Sheriff’s deputy, located Washam and conducted the search.

During the search of Washram’s vehicle, the detectives located what they termed as a “significant” amount of prepackaged methamphetamine, prepackaged marijuana, multiple digital scales, drug packaging material, manufacturing material, drug paraphernalia and drug transaction records.
