Tamara J. Siebert, 34, of Cannon Beach was killed after she lost control of her 1987 Nissan pickup at 8:05 a.m. Tuesday morning while driving eastbound on U.S. Highway 26.

Oregon State Police Lt. Duane Stanton said Siebert was about 35 miles east of Seaside when she crossed into the westbound lane and went off the north shoulder of the roadway, striking a tree stump. Siebert was pronounced dead at the scene.

Stanton said she was wearing a seat belt, and at the time of the crash the roadway was icy and graveled. Highway 26 was closed intermittently as OSP troopers from Astoria and Banks investigated the crash.

Elsie-Vinemaple Fire Department personnel and the Oregon Department of Transportation provided assistance, he said.
