WARRENTON - The Cape Falcon Marine Reserve Community Team will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Warrenton Community Center, 170 S.W. Third St. in Warrenton.

The next phase in the Cape Falcon Marine Reserve evaluation process is to assess the economic impact this large-scale ocean closure will have on the local communities. The approximate size of the closure is four miles along the beach: two miles north to two miles south of Cape Falcon, and out to three miles offshore, or 12 square miles.

This closure will mean no fishing - even from the beach - crabbing and clam digging either recreationally or commercially. The community action team welcomes those who fish, clam dig or go crabbing around the Cape Falcon area to attend the meeting and discuss the expected economic impact the closure would have on them.
