The city of Seaside celebrated the completion of the Cartwright Park face-lift (above) with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Oct. 14. The park was given a two-part upgrade in the form of playground equipment. The first part of the equipment was installed near the end of April and the second part was installed at the end of September. The new equipment includes a swing-set, a climbing wall, hanging rings and two slides.

A plaque commemorating the two donations of $17,000 by Hood to Coast organizers to fund the equipment was also installed in time for the ribbon cutting.
