U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Astoria rescued an 86-year-old man from the cruise ship Regal Princess Monday night.

Walter Campbell, of Pacifica, Calif., was suffering from a possible heart attack and liver failure 130 miles northwest of Astoria.

The Coast Guard sent an HH-60 Jayhawk helicopter to airlift him and a nurse to the air station. Campbell was transferred to Columbia Memorial Hospital where he's in stable condition.
