Christopher Allen Babcock, 35, of Astoria, died Monday, Feb. 13, 2006 in Astoria.
He was born April 27, 1970 in Hartford, Conn., to Richard Carl Anthony Babcock Sr. and Margaret Goodwin Babcock. His father survives and lives in Woonsocket, R.I. His mother, Margaret Ogassian, survives and lives in Millbury, Mass.
Mr. Babcock was raised in Milford, Mass., where he graduated from high school. He joined the U.S. Army and served in the Persian Gulf during Desert Storm and Desert Shield and was honorably discharged in October 1990.
He worked as a professional bull rider based in Durango, Colo., and also as a bodyguard in the security field.
He married Susan Marie Lorange Nov. 21, 1999 in Woonsocket. She survives and lives in Astoria. The couple moved to Astoria in March 2002.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he is survived by one son, Christopher Babcock Jr. of Germany; one daughter, Hanna Lee Babcock of Germany; one brother, Richard Babcock Jr. of Woonsocket; one grandmother, Alice Babcock of Franklin, Mass.; and his stepmother, Collette Babcock of Woonsocket.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary, Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Astoria.
Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. with a reception in the church fellowship hall.
Private burial will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
The family suggests memorials be in the form of a contribution to the Christopher Babcock Memorial Fund, Bank of Astoria, 1122 Duane St., Astoria, OR 97103.
