The Clatsop County Housing Authority recently opened two new housing projects in Warrenton.
The Tilikum and Wapiti projects at the Forest Rim subdivision were designed and constructed by Olstedt Construction in Seaside. Both projects contain eight unit, two-bedroom complexes. Each unit is 920 sq. ft. and has a washer, dryer and dishwasher.
The Tilikum project was designed for homeless families and offers permanent housing and comprehensive case management with self-sufficiency as the goal.
CCHA was awarded a $720,000 grant in November of last year for the project. Other support was received from the Oregon Housing Authority, Clatsop Community Action, and Oregon Housing and Community Services.
Wapiti is a workforce housing project. The units are intended for families earning 60 percent or below the average median income. The income limit for a four-person household is $32,340.
The project was funded by $600,000 from HOME (a federal housing program that provides formula grants to states and towns) and $100,000 from the Trust Fund (an Oregon housing development grant program).
