About a dozen members of the Clatsop County Chapter of the Oregon Hunters Association spent April 20 picking up and hauling away about 10 cubic yards of garbage illegally dumped on Campbell Group industrial timberlands. This is the fourth year the group has undertaken this project.

“We picked up everything from tires to carpets,” said Clatsop County OHA chapter president Wendell Locke. The group concentrated its efforts around gated roads.

Illegal garbage dumping on forestlands has become an issue throughout Western Oregon. “It’s a year-round problem,” said Locke.
