The Clatsop Community College board of directors is inviting interested citizens to apply for the Board's Presidential Screening Committee.
The Screening Committee will review the paper files of applicants to assist the board in determining finalists for interview by the board.
The board is expected to select the members of the committee at its regular meeting Thursday.
Membership of the committee, in addition to board members, will consist of four community members and four college employees.
The work of the committee will take place from about March 31 through April 7.
Requirements for membership include (1) conducting committee work in executive session, following the initial committee orientation; (2) participating in a paper screening process only, involving a review of application materials submitted by applicants, but not involvement in candidate interviews; (3) respecting the confidential nature of the screening committee's task; (4) impartially reviewing each candidate's application; and (5) spending the time necessary for a quality job of screening, estimated at 20 hours.
Applications are due by Tuesday to board secretary Kari Walsh at 338-2425 and can be picked up in the president's office at 1653 Jerome Ave. in Astoria, or they can be downloaded from the college Web site at www.clatsopcc.edu
