The Columbia River Compact set some additional non-Indian commercial salmon fisheries on the mainstem Columbia River Thursday.
Commercial salmon fishing will be allowed between 8 p.m. Sunday and 6 a.m. Monday in Zones 1-5, with the Elokomin-A, Abernathy, Cowlitz, Kalama-A, Lewis-A, Sandy and Washougal rivers sanctuaries in effect.
An additional commercial salmon season will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday between the mouth of the Columbia and the Longview Bridge, with the Elokomin-A and Abernathy sanctuaries in effect.
Commercial salmon fishing will be allowed from 8 p.m. Tuesday to 1 a.m. Wednesday and 8 p.m. Thursday to 1 a.m. Friday, Sept. 24 from the Longview Bridge upstream to Beacon Rock, with the Cowlitz, Kalama-A, Lewis-A, Sandy and Washougal rivers sanctuaries in effect.

In Blind Slough/Knappa Slough, the commercial salmon season was modified to be open four nights from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. on Monday night through Friday morning. For the weeks of Sept. 27, Oct. 4, Oct. 11, Oct. 18 and Oct. 25, the fishery will be open from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m. from Monday night to Friday mornings.
