One offender was furloughed from the Clatsop County Jail because of overcrowding during the week of Nov. 12-18.

That person had been sentenced to 30 days in jail for initiating a false police report. The person was furloughed to the work crew to serve the final 23 days of the sentence.

This person's criminal history includes an arrest in June for attempting to elude a police officer.

On Monday, there were 67 people lodged in the Clatsop County Jail, three more than the facility's 64-inmate cap. In addition, Clatsop County was responsible for 20 inmates lodged at the Tillamook County Jail. Clatsop County leases up to 25 beds at the Tillamook County facility at a cost of $55 per bed per day.

Approximately 47 offenders were assigned to the community work crew. Clatsop County Community Corrections had eight offenders on electronic monitoring.
