The Clatsop County Board of Commissioners made a second presentation recognizing people who made "significant contributions" to the county following windstorms Dec. 2 and 3. The commissioners honored 60 community members previously, during their Feb. 13 regular meeting. They recognized 28 more honorees at their Feb. 27 meeting.

The honorees who were outside county organization were: Dr. Bill Armington and Christine Lolich, Columbia Memorial Hospital; John Aker, Federal Emergency Management Agency; Dean Zierman, FEMA Mobile Emergency Response Support; Rick Pass, Knappa School District; Jim Neilson, Westport Fire Department; Bill Boone, Hamlet Rural Fire District; Ron Tyson, Olney Walluski RFD; Mike Wammack, Elsie-Vinemaple Rural Fire Protection District; Jeff Golightly and Lynda Lee, Youngs River Lewis and Clark Water District; Laura Leebrick, Western Oregon Waste; Mark Taylor, South Fork Forest Camp; Pam Hayes, Providence Seaside Hospital; Crystal Weston; Cindy Howe, Sunset Empire Transportation District; Steve Wilcox, Wilcox & Flegel Oil Company; Tad Pedersen, Oregon State Fire Marshal's Office; Ron Larsen Port of Astoria; Larry McKinley, Oregon Department of Transportation; Duane Mullins, Medix Ambulance Service; and Paul Olheiser, Knappa-Svensen-Burnside Fire Department.
