Clatsop County crews will be doing drainage ditch and shoulder work in the Knappa District on Hillcrest Loop between Akerstadt and Koppisch roads and replacing culverts on Oklahoma Hill Road.

Road reconstruction work will occur on the Mudd and Christians lanes and Green Mountain Road, and there will be herbicide spraying in the Knappa District, starting in the Brownsmead area, weather permitting, and shoulder mowing in the Astoria, Jewell, and Knappa districts.

Also this week the Oregon Department of Transportation will continue work on the Astoria Bridge. The project involves recoating the steel above the bridge deck on the southern side of the Columbia River bridge along U.S. 101 north of Astoria.

The scheduled work includes preparing and painting the bridge steel above the bridge deck. Flaggers will control single lane traffic. Lane delays of up to 20 minutes will be allowed anytime on weekdays and weekends. 

ODOT crews will also be replacing a culvert with a bridge along US Highway 30 at Mill Creek, just east of Astoria between mile posts 94.42 and 95.11.

Work will include construction of the new roadway. The access to the old Columbia River Highway located at the project site has been permanently closed. Flaggers will control single lane traffic. Expect delays of up to 20 minutes.

Slide repair work will be done on Oregon Highway 202 (Nehalem Highway) at milepost 23.65 (Blueberry). The work is expected to start Tuesday. Flaggers will control single lane traffic 24 hours a day once construction activities have begun.

The Oregon State Police will be enforcing the speed limit through the work zones.
