A "credible threat" prompted officials to close five schools in Battleground Wednesday.

Chief Umtuch Middle, Summit View Middle, Captain Strong Primary, CAM Academy and Battle Ground High are all closed, according to a news release.

The schools were closed in cooperation with the police, KGW is reporting.

The threats were made in writing and an increased police presence will be on campus when the schools reopened, police said.
