The CSO project contractor, Tapani, will be working on pipe installation and grading on Eighth Street between Irving and Madison avenues in Astoria this week. Work on curbs, sidewalk and intersection corner ramps will continue between Franklin and Kensington avenues.

Construction on Ninth Street will continue between Franklin and Harrison avenues. Storm pipe installation is essentially complete. A water line will be installed between Franklin and Grand avenues. Tapani will also be working on intersection corner ramps and final road grades.

Both 11th and 12th streets have been paved.

A schedule of anticipated road closures because of construction this week is as follows:

During construction on Eighth between Irving and Madison, Eighth will be closed to through traffic. Intersections will likely be open to east-west traffic when construction is not under way.

The road will be closed during construction on Ninth between Franklin and Harrison.

The construction of curbs, sidewalks and intersection corner ramps on Eighth will continue, and may require short-term lane closures.

Tapani will continue working 10-hour days Monday through Friday.
