Five students from the Friendship Public Charter School of Washington, D.C., visited The Daily Astorian Tuesday.

The group had come to Portland for the Journalism Education Association Conference.

The five student journalists produce a cutting-edge magazine, whose current issue is devoted to difficult social issues within the African-American community.

They met with Daily Astorian reporters Cassandra Profita and Deeda Schroeder and Publisher Steve Forrester.
