Owners of rural property in Clatsop County who turned in applications for one-acre partitions soon face a deadline to complete the process.

On Oct. 3, 2000, the Oregon Department of Land Conservation and Development amended statewide planning Goal 14 to increase the minimum rural lot size to two acres, instead of one acre. After notifying affected property owners, Clatsop County Community Development Department received a number of applications for one-acre partitions before that deadline.

Those partitions are now coming up on expiration dates. Those property owners need to request one-year extensions or, otherwise, their property will fall under the new two-acre minimum lot size requirement.

Property owners should contact the Clatsop County Department of Community Development, Room 110, 800 Exchange St., Astoria, or call (503) 325-8611.
