Donna Yvonne Shaw, 74, of Seaside, died Saturday, Aug. 20, 2005 in Seaside.

Mrs. Shaw was born April 18, 1931 in Vancouver, Wash., to John and Ida Peterson.

Her younger years were spent in Portland. She moved to Santa Cruz, Calif., as a teenager.

She married Charles H. Shaw in Santa Cruz. He preceded her in death June 24, 1988.

Mrs. Shaw retired from the Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz in 1993. She made her home in Bend for eight years before moving to Seaside.

Family members said she loved to sew, garden, swim, attend church and watch Dr. Phil. Most of all, she loved her family. They said she made the world's best beef jerky.

She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Seaside.

Mrs. Shaw is survived by seven children and spouses scattered throughout Oregon and California, Charles and Lielani Shaw, Cheryl Diggs, Debra and Jerry Blackwelder, Tami and Jose Saucedo, Robert Shaw, Paul Shaw, Chris and Anne Shaw; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and three brothers, John "Bud," Norman and Roger Peterson, all of California.

A memorial will be held 11 a.m. Aug. 30 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 120 Ocean Way, Seaside.
