Five donors pooled their resources to purchase a painting for the Columbia River Maritime Museum, enabling the purchase of a Henk Pander painting of the Astoria waterfront, created during the artist's recent visit and exhibitions.

"Astoria Harbor" is a large watercolor painted by Henk Pander during his September visit, which included exhibitions at the Maritime Museum and the Clatsop Community College Art Gallery.

Museum Executive Director Sam Johnson said,?"It is with great pleasure that the Museum accepts this fine painting by Henk Pander into its collections. Mr. Pander's masterful use of light, color, line and perspective has captured a fine contemporary scene of the Port of Astoria. It is a piece of our living history."

Once the Pander painting is framed, it will be exhibited in the museum's lobby.
