Doug Grant fills CCC board vacancyDoug Grant has been appointed to fill the Clatsop Community College Board of Directors vacancy for Zone III, Position Seven. He will serve until June 30, 2005, and will then be eligible to run for election to serve the remainder of the term, which will expire in 2007.

He replaces board member David Shannon, who recently resigned because he said he couldn't devote enough time to the board.

Doug Grant has a distinguished career in the broadcast industry and has also worked in the print media. He currently works for the Seaside Signal. He brings a wide variety of experiences to the board including a life-long belief in the value and necessity of a good education, a sales background, budget development and implementation, and a strong ability to interact positively with people in all walks of life, according to the college.

There are seven members of the College Board and Doug Grant is one of three members that represent Zone III, which includes Warrenton, Hammond, Clatsop Plains, Gearhart, Seaside, Necanicum, Hamlet, Cannot Beach and Arch Cape.
