The Astoria Downtown Historic District Association is organizing its annual Downtown Clean-Up Day from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday, to celebrate Earth Day. Those interested in helping should meet at the Sunset Empire Transit District parking lot at the corner of 10th Street and Marine Drive to receive materials and job assignments.

A variety of projects will be worked on throughout the downtown historic district to spruce up downtown in preparation for the Astoria Sunday Market, the cruise ships and the summer tourist season, including trash pickup, moss removal, weeding and cleaning of lamp posts and trash cans.

Cleaning supplies and lunch will be provided, but volunteers should feel free to bring their own supplies/tools as well. Business and property owners are also encouraged to tackle any planned projects for their own buildings and storefronts in conjunction with this event.

Those interested in participating, or who have questions, can contact Rebecca Frick at 503-791-7940 or manager@astoriadowntown.com
