The 33rd annual banquet of the North Coast Chapter of Ducks Unlimited will be held April 3 at the Clatsop County Fairgrounds. The doors will open at 5 p.m. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m.

The event includes a dinner, live and silent auctions and assorted raffles and games of chance. Wildlife art, carved decoys, firearms and useful merchandise will be featured. More than 30 guns will be auctioned or given away.

DU's mission is to protect, enhance, restore and manage important wetlands for the benefit of North American waterfowl. Many other forms of wildlife, including salmon, also benefit from DU's projects. In addition to DU's focus on the major waterfowl production areas in Canada and Alaska, DU is involved in a number of local projects in Youngs Bay and Willapa Bay and the Grays River area in Washington. Many of these projects involve dike breeching that will restore tidal wetlands for the benefit of both waterfowl and salmon.

The regular ticket price for the April 3 event is $45. Special ticket packages are available for youths, significant others and sponsors. All tickets include dinner, DU membership and magazine and a chance at the door prize gun.

Tickets and information are available from Jennifer Biamont at (503) 738-5580. Advance purchase is highly recommended.
